About this test

Designed to detect and identify bacterial and fungal pathogens causing urinary tract infections using qPCR and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies.

Main Infections Detected:

  • description-item-image

Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) including Chronic Cystitis, recurrent or complicated, other uropathogen associated infections

The UroKEY test provides clinical insight for  urinary tract infections (UTIs), test detects bacterial and fungal pathogens associated with chronic cystitis, recurrent or complicated UTIs, and other uropathogen - associated infections. It is particularly beneficial for culture-negative cases, antibiotic-resistant infections, and patients with prior antibiotic use, where traditional culture methods may fail to identify the causative organisms. The test may also be used preoperatively in patients undergoing kidney stone removal to assess infection risk and guide antimicrobial therapy

Rapid sequencing using NGS technology powered by advanced bioinformatics, enables broad microbial identification, detecting over 50,000 bacterial and fungal targets in a single sample. qPCR enables rapid detection of bacterial load and targeted pathogen identification, improving diagnostic sensitivity. The test also screens for 17 antibiotic resistance genes, supporting optimized antimicrobial therapy selection.

Validated for urine samples, the test includes a pre-configured sample collection kit and delivers results within 3–5 days, providing clinicians with critical data to optimize UTI management and treatment strategies.

Interpreting our lab report

Each test includes a detailed laboratory report, providing clinicians with clear, structured data for fast decision-making. These reports include:

  • • List of bacteria and fungi detected in the sample(s)

  • • Identified antibiotic resistance genes

  • • Antimicrobials to consideration for treatment
